In the Episcopal Church we believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of
the Church. All that we are, all that we do, is of Christ.
Our Bishop, The Right Reverend Dean Wolfe, is the Chief Pastor of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas. It is unfortunate that we only see Bishop Wolfe now and then. In the Episcopal Church we understand that those who are called to be Bishop are, in fact, representatives of the Apostles who walked with Jesus. In the Episcopal Church a Bishop is called to guard the faith, unity and discipline of the Church, to celebrate and to provide for the administration of the sacraments of the New Covenant; to ordain priests and deacons and to join in ordaining bishops; and to be in all things a faithful pastor and wholesome example for the entire flock of Christ. Bishop Wolfe's office is located at our Cathedral in Topeka.
The Reverend Jane Ware is our Pastoral Assistant. As an ordained Deacon she continually seeks nourishment from Holy Scripture, and models her life upon those scriptures. She makes Christ and His redemptive love known to those among whom she lives, works and worships by her word and example. She is responsible for interpreting to the Church the needs, concerns, and hopes of the world. She assists the bishop and priests in public worship and in the ministration of God's Word and Sacraments. The primary focus of her ministry and calling are to show Christ's people, by her life and teaching, that in serving the helpless they are serving Christ himself.

Our Lead Pastor, known at the "Rector" in the Episcopal Church, is The Reverend Ronald Peak. As a priest he is called to proclaim by word and deed the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to fashion his life in accordance its precepts. He loves and serves the the people among whom he works, caring alike for young and old, strong and weak, rich and poor. Father Ron is an excellent preacher, he declares God's forgiveness to penitent sinners, pronounces God's blessing, and shares in the administration of Holy Baptism and in the celebration of the mysteries of Christ's Body and Blood. Father Ron leads most all of our worship services. He loves teaching God's Word, and is a trained pastoral counselor. Appointments to meet with Father Ron can be made by calling the parish office. |
